Overview

The National Awareness, Outreach & Engagement Division leads RSCE’s efforts to promote a culture of road safety across Jordan. The Division focuses on public awareness, youth engagement, community outreach, and media communication to influence behavior and strengthen societal responsibility toward road safety.

Objectives

  • Raise public awareness of road safety risks and responsibilities

Prof. Ahmad Hani Alomari,  Yarmouk University
Prof. Alomari — a powerhouse of transportation innovation, where academia meets real-world impact. He is a professor of civil engineering at Yarmouk University (Irbid, Jordan). He combines 17 years of academic research and teaching experience, along with industry experience in the private sector (as a traffic engineer and transportation planner). Eng. Sana’a Khasawneh, Traffic Specialist
Sana’a Khasawneh is an international consultant specializing in road safety, sustainable mobility, strategic communication, and youth empowerment. She works at the intersection of transport, public health, and climate, supporting governments, international organizations, and civil society to design people-centered policies and advocacy initiatives. Her work focuses on translating complex policy frameworks into compelling narratives, building youth capacity, and turning participation into measurable impact. Through advisory roles, facilitation, and storytelling, she helps institutions engage young people not as beneficiaries, but as partners in shaping safer, more inclusive mobility systems
 
 
 
 
 
 

Eng. Rahmeh Alhyari, Transportation Engineer, Greater Amman Municipality.
 

Rahmeh Alhyari is a specialist at the intersection of traffic management, road safety engineering, and smart mobility. She holds a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering and another in Road Safety Management. Alhyari brings extensive experience working on transport and traffic projects within the government sector, with a growing focus on sustainable and resilient urban transport. Her work focuses on transforming transport challenges into practical solutions that enhance safety, performance, and system reliability through technical reviews, safety audits, and system analysis.

 

 


Dr. Waleed Dr. Aleadelat, Senior Project Manager at MTC

A senior project manager at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), where he leads the development of asset management plans for the San Francisco Bay Area's toll bridges, a network valued at more than $80 billion. With over a decade of combined industry and research experience across the USA and the Gulf region, he brings deep expertise in asset management, transportation data science, risk analysis, and life cycle planning. He holds a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Wyoming, with a research focus on infrastructure management. Prior to joining MTC, he served as a project engineer at Caltrans and as a research scientist at the University of Wyoming. His work centers on advancing data-driven strategies to create smarter, safer, and more sustainable infrastructure systems. Dr. Aleadelat is a certified Asset Management Professional (AMP), a member of the Institute of Asset Management (MIAM), and serves on the Transportation Research Board Standing Committee on Asset, Performance, and Risk Management.


Dr. Mohammad Aljarrah - Senior Traffic and ITS Consultant, AECOM (Texas, United States)

A senior traffic and intelligent transportation systems consultant specializing in traffic studies and operations, traffic safety, transportation planning, intelligent transportation systems and smart mobility, and pavement systems engineering. 

He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and authored more than 12 journal and conference research articles. He is also a licensed professional engineer. 

Dr. Aljarrah combines more than 10 years of academic training and practical industrial experience in transportation engineering, bridging theory to practice, and translating transportation strategies into real-world solutions.
