Members of the Student Parliament at the German Jordanian University (GJU)   officially took the oath before the University President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, Dean of Student Affairs, following the official approval of the final election results in accordance with the University’s Student Parliament regulations.

Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized the importance of collective efforts through the Student Parliament, which was established in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to advance political modernization and strengthen youth engagement. He highlighted the Parliament’s vital role in enhancing university life, fostering communication between students and the University administration, and developing students’ leadership, dialogue, and civic responsibility skills. He also commended the democratic spirit, cooperation, and commitment demonstrated by the elected members throughout the electoral process.

For her part, Dr. Farah Al-Atrash stated that the election of Student Parliament members reflects the trust students place in their peers and their confidence in their ability to represent them and serve the university community. She noted that this trust carries a significant responsibility that requires initiative, collaboration, and commitment. Dr. Al-Atrash further explained that this year’s elections represented a distinguished model of democratic practice, constructive dialogue, and respect for diverse opinions. She reaffirmed the Deanship’s commitment to supporting and empowering the Student Parliament as an active platform for ideas and initiatives that contribute to enhancing university life and strengthening positive student engagement within the University.

On this occasion, Dr. Al-Atrash also extended her appreciation to the Higher Elections Committee, all supporting committees, and the entities that contributed to the success of this important student milestone, while congratulating the newly elected members and wishing them success in fulfilling their responsibilities.

The oath-taking ceremony marks the official commencement of the Student Parliament’s work, enabling members to begin exercising their duties and responsibilities in a manner that promotes student participation and democratic life on campus.
