The German Jordanian University (GJU), through the Community Service section at the Support Services Department (SSD), in cooperation with the Local Community Health Committee at Madaba Al-Gharbi Health Center, the Anti-Narcotics Department in Madaba, and the Community Police, organized an awareness lecture and an educational theatrical performance on the dangers of drug abuse and its negative impact on individuals, families, and society.
The event included an awareness lecture addressing the risks of drug abuse, ways to prevent it, and the importance of raising community awareness, particularly among young people, to help curb the spread of this serious problem.
The event also featured an awareness theatrical performance that realistically portrayed the devastating effects of drugs and their impact on individuals’ lives, families, and futures, aiming to deliver awareness messages in an engaging and impactful manner.
Participants emphasized the importance of joint efforts among official institutions and local community organizations in combating drug abuse, promoting a culture of prevention and awareness, and strengthening the role of families, educational institutions, and community organizations in protecting young people from its dangers.
The event comes as part of GJU’s efforts to strengthen its partnership with the local community, promote health and security awareness, and contribute to building a safer society that is more aware of the dangers of drug abuse and ways to prevent it.
