
The German Jordanian University (GJU) hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for a scientific visit aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two parties in the fields of sustainable energy and innovation. This visit is part of the memorandum of understanding signed between the ministry and the university, focusing on ways to develop community responsibility and exchange expertise.
Dr. Ahmad Al-Shawawra, the liaison coordinator at the Faculty of Applied Technical Sciences, emphasized the importance of the partnership between the university and government entities in developing the energy sector in Jordan through innovation and transformative technologies.
On his part, Mr. Nidal Qasem, Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Energy, highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration with the university in the fields of renewable energy, pointing out the vital role of such initiatives in achieving Jordan's goals towards sustainable energy sources.
The meeting discussed important topics in the energy field, where Dr. Hani Mohsen addressed the topic of energy transition, Dr. Ahmad Al-Shawawra presented on smart buildings, and Dr. Bashar Hammad introduced the SATS smart energy management system. Following that, the delegation toured the DI-Tech and SATS laboratories, where the latest projects and innovations in these fields were showcased.
It was agreed to hold joint workshops and specialized seminars in the areas of renewable energy and digital transformation, in addition to developing academic programs tailored to meet the needs of both the local and international markets in this vital sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation confirmed that continuous cooperation with GJU aims to develop sustainable and effective solutions to address the energy challenges in Jordan.
